Content marketing in the UAE: what's worth making

Start from the questions customers ask before they buy, make fewer and better pieces in both languages, and stop publishing what nobody asked for.

The short answer

Content marketing in the UAE is worth doing when each piece answers a question your customers ask before they buy, and your sales team can send it on WhatsApp. Start from those questions, write in the languages your enquiries arrive in, and stop making anything nobody asked for. Judge it by enquiries and sales, not page views.

The most reliable content brief a UAE business owns is already on someone's phone: the questions customers send on WhatsApp before they buy. Pull a month of them and you'll have more topics than you can publish, each with proof that a real buyer wanted the answer.

Where should content topics come from?

From sales, not from a keyword tool. Export 90 days of enquiries from WhatsApp, email and call notes, group them by question, and rank the groups by how often they come up and how much the deals are worth. The top ten groups are your first ten pieces, and keyword research comes second, to find the words buyers use for the same questions.

Common buyer questions and the content that answers each
The buyer asksMakeWhere it lives
How much does it cost?A cost explainer that shows what moves the price and gives your starting figureA page on your site and a short video, with a link sales can send
How long will it take?A timeline with the steps and what you need from the customerA page and a one-page PDF
Is it allowed, safe or legal?A rules explainer that names the authority and shows a 'last checked' dateA page, reviewed when the rule changes
Why you and not someone cheaper?A comparison, or a worked example of what a cheaper quote leaves outA page and a founder post
Have you done this before?A case with real numbers, published with the customer's permissionA page, a short video and a slide in your sales deck
What happens if it goes wrong?A plain description of how you fix problemsA page and the FAQ on your product page

Which formats earn their place?

Make the formats your sales team will actually send. An answer page, a comparison, a case, a founder video and a short checklist cover most buying questions, and each can be cut into social posts later. The test for any piece is simple: name the person on your team who will send it to a customer, and the question it replies to. If you can't, don't make it.

Cut what nobody asked for. Company news written like a press release, trend lists assembled from other trend lists, and posts that exist because it's Tuesday go first. Greetings for Ramadan, Eid and National Day are expected and cheap, so do them well, but don't mistake them for a content plan.

Write FAQ sections because customers ask those questions. Since Google's August 2023 change, FAQ rich results have been limited to well-known government and health sites, so don't expect one on a business site. The benefit is a page that states a question and answers it in plain words, and writing FAQs that AI assistants quote shows the shape that works.

What makes a piece worth trusting?

Details that only someone who does the work would know. Google says E-E-A-T isn't a ranking factor in its own right, that trust is the most important of its aspects, and that its systems use a mix of signals to identify it, so there's no score to chase. What a reader can check is your actual process, how your prices are built, photos from real jobs and the mistake you now avoid. See E-E-A-T for the idea behind it.

Show who is accountable. A page with a named company, a visible 'last checked' date and a source for every number is easier for a reader to trust than a polished page with none.

Should it be in Arabic, English or both?

Let the language of your enquiries decide, and write each language from the brief, not from the other language. The government portal says expatriates outnumber UAE nationals and names Arabic the official language, yet it publishes no split, so the national mix can't answer this. Your inbox can: if a fifth or more of your enquiries arrive in Arabic, you need original Arabic pieces.

Originated Arabic is a different job from translated Arabic, and the step-by-step Arabic workflow shows where a native writer fits in. The search side sits with Arabic SEO. Google's help pages list the UAE and Arabic among the places and languages where AI Overviews and AI Mode are available, and Google says nothing extra is required to appear in them beyond being indexed and eligible to show with a snippet. Availability doesn't mean every search shows one, so the lever is page quality.

How does content reach customers?

Start with your own conversations. Sales can send a link in a WhatsApp reply to someone who has just asked the question, and GWI's Q2 2026 survey found WhatsApp used in the past month by 84.1 per cent of UAE internet users aged 16 and over, more than any other app it listed. A link with one line on why it helps gets read by a person who asked for it.

Add channels in order of effort: the founder's LinkedIn (founder content on LinkedIn), your customer email list (email marketing in the UAE), search (SEO in Dubai) and short video (video marketing in the UAE). Pay to promote a piece only after it has earned replies unpaid.

Be honest about search timing. We publish SEO timing as most sites seeing movement in 3 to 4 months, with competitive terms taking 6 to 12 months. A content plan judged at week six will look like a failure, and it isn't one.

Is AI-written content a risk?

Not in itself, and Google gives both halves of the answer. Its February 2023 guidance says quality is what it rewards, whoever or whatever produced the content, and that using AI primarily to manipulate search rankings violates its spam policies. The test is purpose and value: does each page help a reader, whichever tool wrote it?

Use AI for structure, first drafts and tidying. Keep people on the facts, the local detail and the judgement, and check every number against a source. We use AI in our own workflows and say so, and an AI content workflow without slop sets out how. Whether Google penalises AI content walks through the policy, and anyone you hire should be able to tell you how they use it.

How do you know content is working?

Score each piece on three things: how often sales sends it, whether the enquiries that follow are qualified, and whether it earns search impressions over time. Page views alone aren't on the list. A piece that sales sends every week and nobody finds on Google is doing its job.

Use Google Search Console for the search side and the 'How did you find us?' question in your first WhatsApp reply for the rest. Google Search Console for business owners is the place to start.

When do you need a content marketing agency?

When the bottleneck is production and editing capacity, not ideas. If you can't name who writes, edits, translates and publishes each piece, an agency or a package closes that gap. If nobody on the team knows what buyers ask, hiring a writer won't fix it, and week one should be the WhatsApp export above.

Our content marketing service begins at AED 12,000 a month, scoped to what you publish. The AI Content Engine is a fixed AED 65,000 and installs a brand-voice pipeline, for one brand in two languages, that your own team runs. If you publish only a few pieces a month, you need a good freelance writer and an editor, and what to check when hiring content writing services covers how to choose them.

Run the audit before you commission anything else. List every piece you published in the last 12 months, mark each one that sales has sent, that brought an enquiry or that earns search impressions, and cut the format of anything with no mark. What's left is your content plan.

Questions people ask

01What is content marketing, and does it work in the UAE?

Content marketing means publishing useful material, such as answer pages, guides, case studies and videos, that helps customers decide to buy from you. It works in the UAE when the material answers real buyer questions in the right languages and your sales team uses it in conversations. Measure it by qualified enquiries, not page views.

02How much does content marketing cost in Dubai?

Cost depends on how many pieces you make, in how many languages, with what production, and who edits and checks the facts. We don't quote a market range because we can't source one. Magnetic Keys' content marketing service starts from AED 12,000 excluding VAT and is priced on scope. Compare providers by cost per published piece, including your own editing time.

03How often should a UAE business publish content?

Publish at the rate you can keep making pieces that sales will send. A few strong pieces a month is a rate a small team can sustain. A rhythm you can hold for a year beats a burst that stops after a quarter, and one useful piece answering a common question beats a calendar of filler.

04Is AI-generated content bad for SEO?

Google's February 2023 guidance says quality is what it rewards, whoever or whatever produced the content, and that using AI mainly to manipulate search rankings violates its spam policies. The test is value to the reader, not the tool. Check every fact, add local detail only people can supply, and don't mass-publish pages that add nothing.
