RERA

Also known as: Real Estate Regulatory Agency

Definition

RERA, the Real Estate Regulatory Agency, is the regulatory arm of Dubai Land Department for Dubai's property sector. For marketers the relevant rules run through DLD: broker registration and the advertising permits issued through its Trakheesi system.

Many people search for the advertising permit as a 'RERA permit', but on Dubai Land Department's own service page it appears as the Real Estate Ad Permit, issued through Trakheesi. Brokers and brokerage offices are registered with DLD, which counted 32,294 registered brokers and 9,785 brokerage offices at the end of 2025. That is a registration count at one date, not the number of brokers active today.

Any ad wording that implies regulatory approval should be backed by a document you can show, because 'approved' in a headline is a claim like any other. RERA's remit is Dubai property, so projects and brokers elsewhere in the UAE answer to different authorities, and the correct body for a given project should be confirmed with the developer or the authority before it is named in an ad. This isn't legal advice.
