Core Web Vitals

Also known as: CWV · LCP · INP · CLS

Definition

Core Web Vitals are Google's user-experience metrics: Largest Contentful Paint (loading), Interaction to Next Paint (responsiveness) and Cumulative Layout Shift (visual stability), measured on real user traffic.

The thresholds for a good experience are LCP under 2.5 seconds, INP under 200 milliseconds and CLS under 0.1, assessed at the 75th percentile of real visits. Lab tools estimate these; field data from real users is what actually counts.

Their direct ranking weight is modest, but their commercial effect is not. Conversion rate degrades measurably with every additional second of load, and on mobile connections across the GCC the gap between a fast and slow site is often the difference between a lead and a bounce.
