Dental clinic marketing in Dubai: sell implants and check-ups differently
Check-ups and implants need separate plans. How to value a consultation, which Google Ads terms to buy and block, and how to word payment plans.
The short answer
A dental clinic in Dubai should run two plans: a local, booking-led one for check-ups, and a comparison-led one for implants and aligners. For high-value treatments, work out what a consultation is worth (case value times margin times the share that proceed) and never bid above a fraction of it. Keep price wording true, and every claim inside the health authority's rules.
A check-up and an implant are two products sold to two different searches, and one budget shouldn't serve both. The check-up patient wants the nearest slot this week. The implant patient is weighing clinics, a price and a fear, and a bigger decision takes longer, which hands the advantage to the clearest page and the fastest reply.
Why do check-ups and implants need separate plans?
Because they're bought in different ways: a check-up is booked for convenience, an implant after a comparison. The ladder below shows how the search, the page and the spend change at each step.
| Treatment type | What the search looks like | What the page must do | Where the money goes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Check-ups, hygiene, emergencies | 'dentist near me', an area name, 'open Saturday', 'emergency dentist' | Show hours and location, and give a one-tap way to book | Google Business Profile, local search and recall messages to existing patients |
| Whitening, fillings, children's dentistry | A treatment plus an area | Say what a visit involves and who does it | Search ads with tight area targeting |
| Aligners and veneers | Comparisons, 'how long does it take', brand names | Show the process and timeline, with cases people have consented to | Search ads, retargeting and a consultation offer |
| Implants and full-mouth work | 'implant cost Dubai', 'is it painful', 'how long does it take' | Explain what the price includes, who does the surgery and what happens afterwards | Search ads on cost searches, WhatsApp follow-up and a plain explanation of payment |
Don't give all four rows the same bid or the same landing page. A check-up patient is worth less per visit and may stay for years. An implant patient is worth a lot once and is rarer, so that click earns a page and a follow-up of its own. Put paid budget where the diary has gaps and the margin is highest: if your check-up slots are already full, paying for more check-up clicks buys a waiting list, not revenue.
What is an implant enquiry worth? Work it out before you bid
A consultation's value is three numbers multiplied: what a case brings in, the margin you keep from it, and the share of consultations that go ahead. Say an implant case brings in AED 9,000, you keep half as gross margin, and one consultation in four goes ahead, then a consultation is worth AED 1,125 (9,000 times 50% times 25%). On those hypothetical numbers, paying more than that per consultation loses money, and paying about a third of it, AED 375, leaves room for everything else.
Your real numbers sit in your practice management system. If you can't pull last quarter's implant consultations by source, fix the recording before you buy a single click, because nobody can bid sensibly on a number they don't have.
Which Google Ads terms should a dental clinic buy, and which should it block?
Buy the searches where a person is ready to book or compare, and block the ones from people who aren't patients. For Google Ads on a dental account, the buy list looks like this:
- A treatment plus an area, such as 'teeth whitening Jumeirah', sent to the page for that treatment at that branch
- Cost searches for implants and aligners, sent to a page that explains what the price includes and not to the homepage
- Your clinic's own name and your dentists' names, so a directory can't sit above you for them
Block the rest with negative keywords:
- Jobs, courses and training terms, such as 'dental assistant jobs' or 'dental course'
- Treatments you don't offer
- 'Free' and 'cheap', unless you're running a free-assessment offer or competing on price on purpose
Open the search terms report every week for the first month, because it shows what people actually typed, which is rarely what you assumed. Add anything plainly irrelevant to the block list straight away, and block a relevant term only once it has had enough clicks to judge fairly.
Be patient with Smart Bidding. Google's own guidance is to judge it over a period that contains at least 30 conversions. Say your clinic books 10 implant consultations a month, then three months have to pass before a bid strategy gets a fair test, so put a review date in the diary and leave the targets alone until it arrives.
Keep Performance Max out of implant campaigns. Google notes that it may swap your chosen final URL for a page it judges more relevant, and an implant page is where your price wording and your medical director's approval matter most.
What should an implant page and an aligner page contain?
The implant page
- Who does the surgery, with their qualifications as they appear on their licence
- What the consultation includes, and what it costs if it isn't free
- What the quoted price covers, and what can make it rise
- How long treatment takes from first visit to finished result, written by the dentist, with no promise of 'painless' or 'no side effects'
- How patients can pay, in plain words
- A way to book that works on WhatsApp
The aligner page
- Who it suits and, just as important, who it doesn't, written by the treating dentist
- How treatment runs and how often patients are seen, as the clinician would explain it in the chair
- What happens afterwards and what that costs
- Cases with written consent, labelled as individual results and not a promise
- What the price covers
If you use an aligner brand's name on the page or in an ad, check that brand's own rules for clinics first.
How should a dental clinic talk about payment plans?
Say who provides the credit and what happens if a patient misses a payment. Gulf News reported on 27 July 2026 that Etihad Credit Bureau, the UAE's federal credit agency, will reflect Tabby and Tamara buy now pay later transactions in UAE credit reports from July 2026. If your clinic offers instalments through a buy now, pay later provider such as those, a patient who sees 'pay in instalments' in your ad is taking on a credit commitment that will appear on their report.
Don't write 'no strings', 'interest-free' or 'no credit check' unless the provider's own terms say exactly that. Think twice about quoting a monthly figure before a dentist has seen the patient, because you'd be advertising a price nobody has quoted yet. The government portal's maximum for misleading price advertising is two years' imprisonment and a fine of up to AED 2 million. That's a ceiling and not a typical outcome, but it's reason enough to publish only what a patient will really pay.
Which approvals apply to dental advertising in Dubai?
Three Dubai Health Authority rules matter most on a dental page: written consent for every smile you show, no 'best', '100%' or 'immediate results' wording, and the licence number issued by the Ministry of Health and Prevention on the official social accounts. A clinic still in its initial approval period can't advertise yet. Ask DHA about before-and-after smile images before you plan a campaign around them, because we haven't confirmed that they're allowed. Healthcare marketing in the UAE sets out what we could and couldn't confirm.
A 30-day test before you commit a budget
- Pull the last 12 months of revenue by treatment type from your practice system, with the number of consultations that led to each.
- Work out what a consultation is worth for implants and for aligners, using the sum above.
- Build one page for each, with a WhatsApp button, and set up tracking for taps, calls and forms. Conversion tracking in the UAE shows how.
- Run search ads for 30 days on cost searches for one treatment, with a hard cap equal to what you'd happily lose.
- Record consultations booked and attended each week, and review on day 30 against the value of a consultation.
If day 30 shows consultations booked but nobody turning up, fix the reminder message before you touch the ads. The wider clinic marketing playbook covers that routine.
Questions people ask
How much should a dental clinic spend on Google Ads in Dubai?
Work backwards from what a consultation is worth to you: case value, times the margin you keep, times the share of consultations that go ahead. Pay only a fraction of that per consultation, and set a budget big enough to produce about 30 conversions in your review window, which is Google's guide for judging Smart Bidding. There's no honest market average to copy.
Can a dental clinic in Dubai advertise treatment prices?
We haven't confirmed a rule that bars publishing treatment prices, so ask the Dubai Health Authority. Any price you publish must be true for the patient who responds, because federal consumer law, as the government portal summarises it, tops out at two years' imprisonment and AED 2 million for misleading prices. State what's included and what can raise the total.
Does a dental clinic's Instagram account need a licence number?
If it's a Dubai Health Authority-licensed facility, yes: DHA's social media standard asks for the medical advertisement licence number issued by the Ministry of Health and Prevention on the facility's official account. The standard applies to DHA-licensed facilities and professionals, so check your own position with DHA. A new facility can't advertise during its initial approval period.
Do Tabby and Tamara payments show on a UAE credit report?
Gulf News reported on 27 July 2026 that Etihad Credit Bureau will reflect Tabby and Tamara buy now pay later transactions in UAE credit reports from July 2026. How that affects any one person's score isn't something we can say, so a clinic should describe instalments as credit, not as a free extra.
