The pages a UAE business website actually needs
Six kinds of page are enough to launch a UAE business website, plus Arabic. What each must contain, what a bad version looks like, and what to leave off.
The short answer
Six kinds of page are enough to launch a UAE business website: home, one page per main service, proof, about, contact and a privacy policy. Add an Arabic version of the pages buyers see first, show your trade licence number and issuing authority, and put a WhatsApp button beside the phone number. Every other page has to answer a question a real visitor asks.
Six kinds of page are enough to launch most UAE business websites, and every page beyond them has to answer a question a real visitor asks. A business with three main services launches with eight pages, or sixteen addresses once the Arabic versions exist. Here's what each page must contain, what a bad version looks like, and the UAE additions a template won't give you.
What does each page have to do?
Every page needs one job, and a page that can't name its job should be merged into another or cut.
| Page | Its job | It must contain | A bad version |
|---|---|---|---|
| Home | Tell a stranger in one screen what you do, where and for whom | A plain headline naming the service and the emirate, one main action (call or WhatsApp), a few proof points and links to each service | A slogan, a slider and no mention of what you sell |
| Service pages, one for each main service | Answer one kind of search and one kind of buyer | What's included, who it's for, how it works, how long it takes, a price signal if you can honour it, common questions and one action | A single Services page with twelve services in a paragraph each |
| Proof | Let a stranger check you | Named projects or customers you have permission to show, dated reviews, licences and accreditations | Unattributed testimonials, stock-photo clients and logos you don't have permission to use |
| About | Show that people stand behind the licence | Legal company name, trade licence number and issuing authority, year founded, named people and an address | A mission statement with no names |
| Contact | Make the next step take one tap | Phone, WhatsApp with a pre-filled message, a short form, an address with a map pin and a landmark, and hours that match your working week | A form only, a map pin on the wrong building, hours that ignore the weekend |
| Privacy policy | Say what you collect and why | What forms, cookies, analytics and WhatsApp collect, who receives it, how long you keep it and who to write to | A template written for another country, or none at all |
| Arabic pages | Serve the readers who prefer Arabic | Home, services and contact first, written by a native writer, each on its own URL with a mirrored layout | A translate button, or an Arabic home page that links into English-only pages |
A trading or contracting business should treat each product line as a service page. In 2021 we worked on website structure, UI thinking and content presentation for Blueline International, a UAE trading and contracting business, with the focus on clear information architecture and product page clarity.
Which Arabic pages come first?
Translate in the order a buyer would need the pages: home, the service they came for, then contact. A partial Arabic site that sends readers into English halfway through is worse than a smaller one that stays in Arabic, so launch four proper Arabic pages before twelve weak ones.
We couldn't find an official share of Arabic readers, so check the language of your own visitors in analytics first. Arabic marketing in the UAE covers the wider decision, and the right-to-left guide covers the build.
What should the contact page show in the UAE?
Show phone and WhatsApp side by side, a map, and the cues people navigate by here: a landmark, a well-known junction or building, and a Makani number if your building has one. Use the same business name, address and phone number as your Google Business Profile, character for character.
Write the hours for your actual week. The National reported in 2021 that the federal government works a half day on Fridays with a Saturday and Sunday weekend, and that private companies set their own week, so don't assume one pattern. Say which days you answer WhatsApp and when a message sent at the weekend gets its reply.
Where does your trade licence belong on the site?
Put the legal company name, the trade licence number and the licensing authority in the footer and on the About or Contact page. Whether a licence number must appear on a business website depends on the licence type and the authority, and the sources behind this article don't settle it, so ask the authority that issued yours. Showing it costs nothing, and it gives a stranger something to check.
Some sectors add numbers of their own. Dubai Health Authority's 2022 standard for medical advertisement content on social media says a facility's official account must state its medical advertisement licence number from the Ministry of Health and Prevention, and whether the same expectation reaches your website is a question for DHA. Dubai Land Department issues real estate advertising permits through Trakheesi, and its October 2020 notice said advertising without the right permits brings progressive fines from AED 50,000, so check current rules with DLD, starting with the Trakheesi permit guide.
What does a UAE privacy page need to say?
A privacy page should describe your own setup: what you collect through forms, cookies, analytics and WhatsApp taps, why, who receives it (your CRM, email tool and ad platforms), how long you keep it, and who to write to. A template written for another country's law describes someone else's business.
Date what you write, because the law is unsettled. The UAE government portal names Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 as the federal personal data law, and Morgan Lewis reported on 15 June 2026 that its implementing regulations still hadn't been issued and that no supervisory authority was clearly designated for the private sector. The DIFC has its own Data Protection Law, DIFC Law No. 5 of 2020, and ADGM has its own Data Protection Regulations 2021, so a business licensed in either should ask which regime applies to it. The PDPL entry has the basics. This isn't legal advice, so have a lawyer review the policy.
Should service pages show a price?
Show a price signal when you can honour it, and leave it off when you can't. A price signal helps a buyer decide whether to call, and a page that never mentions money leaves them guessing.
The UAE government portal says suppliers who advertise misleading prices and false data on goods and services face up to two years in prison and a fine of up to AED 2 million under the consumer protection law, Federal Law No. 15 of 2020 as amended. That's a ceiling, not a typical penalty, but a "from" price that nobody ever receives is the kind of claim to show a lawyer.
Which pages should you leave off at launch?
- A blog with three posts from 2021. Dated posts make a business look abandoned, so start one when you can publish on a schedule.
- A mission and vision page. One honest sentence on the About page does the job.
- A separate testimonials page of first names. Put named, dated proof on the home and service pages, with the customer's permission.
- A permanent offers page. Dubai Economy, now the Department of Economy and Tourism, said in 2020 that traders in Dubai must obtain a permit to run sales or promotional campaigns, so check the current requirement before publishing a promotion.
- An intro splash or autoplay video, which delays the page people came for.
- A gallery of unlabelled photos. Attach each photo to the service it shows.
- A page for every emirate with the same text and a different name. Write a location page only if you serve that place and have something specific to say, because swapped-name pages are thin content.
- A careers page when you're not hiring.
How do you decide whether a page earns its place?
Write two lines for each page: which question or search it answers, and what the visitor should do next. If either line is vague, merge the page into one with a clear job. The test takes minutes, and it works on a site that already has forty pages as well as one that has six.
Start with your current site: list every page, write its two lines and mark the ones that can't name a job. Then give the list to whoever builds the next version, using the website brief template, and ask your web design team to build to it.
Questions people ask
How many pages should a small business website have?
Enough to answer each real question a visitor asks, and no more. For a service business that means home, one page per main service, proof, about, contact and a privacy policy: eight pages for three services, or sixteen addresses with Arabic. Add pages when you have something specific to say, not to look bigger.
Does my UAE business website need a privacy policy?
If the site collects anything through forms, analytics or cookies, publish one describing what you collect, why, who receives it and how long you keep it. The federal personal data law is Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021, and its implementing regulations hadn't been issued as of June 2026, so ask a lawyer what applies to you. This isn't legal advice.
Do I need to show my trade licence number on my website?
Showing it costs nothing and gives a stranger something to check, so do it. Whether your licence type requires it depends on the authority that issued it, and the sources behind this article don't settle the question, so ask that authority. Use the exact legal name and number as they appear on your licence.
Should a UAE business website have an Arabic version?
If Arabic speakers are among your customers, yes: start with the home page, your main services and contact, written by a native writer and tested on a phone. We couldn't find an official share of Arabic readers, so check the language of your own visitors' browsers in analytics. Don't launch a translated skeleton full of English links.
What pages should I leave off a new business website?
Leave off anything without a job: a blog you can't keep up, a mission page, a separate testimonials page, a permanent offers page, an intro animation, and location pages that only swap the place name. A smaller site where every page does something beats a larger one where half the pages are empty.
