Organic traffic
Definition
Organic traffic is the visits a website receives from unpaid search results, as opposed to paid ads, social posts, email or direct visits. In Google Analytics 4 it is reported as the Organic Search channel, which includes search engines other than Google.
Visits aren't the goal. Enquiries are. A rise in organic visits that brings no extra calls, WhatsApp messages or forms is a rise in traffic, not in business, so report organic leads beside organic sessions. Split the numbers into branded searches, which come from people who already know the name, and non-branded ones, because branded growth often reflects other marketing and says little about SEO.
Expect the numbers to disagree. Search Console counts clicks from Google Search, while GA4 counts sessions from every search engine, so they won't match and neither is wrong. Some visits are mislabelled: links opened from WhatsApp tend to land in direct, and assistant-sourced visits are logged as referral, which is a different source from organic search.
Compare like with like. Ramadan, Eid, the summer months and sales events such as the Dubai Shopping Festival can move demand around the UAE calendar, so a month-on-month fall may be seasonal. Compare the same period a year earlier, and look at impressions as well as clicks, since impressions holding while clicks fall points to answers being read on the results page.
