How much does digital marketing cost in Dubai in 2026?

Real numbers for agencies, freelancers and in-house hires in the UAE — what each tier actually buys, and where the money quietly disappears.

The short answer

Digital marketing in Dubai typically costs AED 8,000–15,000 per month for a single channel with a freelancer or small agency, AED 15,000–45,000 for a multi-channel agency retainer, and AED 45,000–120,000+ for a full embedded team. Media budget is separate and usually starts around AED 15,000 per month to gather enough signal to optimise.

Almost every published answer to this question is a range so wide it is useless. Here are the actual bands we see in the UAE market, what sits inside each one, and the costs that rarely appear on the proposal.

The three bands

AED 5,000–15,000/month — single channel

A freelancer or a small agency running one thing: social media management, or a modest paid account, or basic SEO. At the lower end you are buying execution hours with no strategy attached, and the person doing the work is usually junior. This band works if you know exactly what you need and can direct it yourself.

Below roughly AED 5,000 the economics stop working. A competent UAE marketer costs more than that to employ, so anything cheaper is either offshore juniors with no oversight or an agency running dozens of accounts on templates.

AED 15,000–45,000/month — multi-channel agency

Two to four channels under one team, with strategy, reporting and a senior person actually accountable. This is where most growth-stage UAE businesses land, and where the difference between agencies is largest — the same fee buys wildly different seniority.

The question that separates them is who does the work. Many agencies at this price sell you a senior team in the pitch and staff the account with juniors after signature. Ask which named person is on the account and how many other accounts they carry.

AED 45,000–120,000+/month — embedded or full-service

A full marketing function: multiple channels, creative production, lifecycle, analytics and often embedded operators sitting inside your team. At this level you should expect weekly business reviews, named senior owners and accountability against pipeline rather than platform metrics.

What is not in the retainer

  • Media spend — paid direct to Google, Meta and TikTok, typically 2–5× the management fee
  • Production — studio days, video, photography, usually AED 8,000–25,000 per shoot
  • Tooling — CRM, analytics, email platform, SEO tools, often AED 2,000–8,000/month
  • Website build — a separate project, typically AED 35,000–150,000
  • Influencer and creator fees — quoted per campaign

A proposal that does not separate these is either hiding them or has not thought about them. Both are informative.

Agency versus in-house versus freelance

A mid-level UAE marketing manager costs roughly AED 18,000–28,000 monthly in salary, plus visa, insurance, gratuity and equipment — call it AED 25,000–38,000 fully loaded, for one person with one skill set. An agency at the same price gives you five or six specialisms but none of them full-time, and no institutional memory.

Freelancers are the cheapest per hour and the most expensive per outcome once you count the management overhead. They work well for defined, self-contained scopes and badly for anything requiring coordination across channels.

The cheapest engagement is rarely the one with the lowest fee. It is the one where the work happens without you having to manage it.

How much media budget do you need?

Below roughly AED 15,000 per month in media, paid social and search cannot gather enough conversion signal to optimise properly — the algorithms need volume, and you spend the whole month in the learning phase. If your total budget is under that, organic, lifecycle and conversion work will return more than paid.

Above that, the useful frame is not what you can afford but what your unit economics permit. Work out your CAC ceiling from gross margin and payback tolerance first, then set the budget that fits it.

Questions that expose the difference

  • Which named person works on my account, and how many other accounts do they have?
  • Is the fee a flat retainer or a percentage of media spend?
  • Who owns the ad accounts, pixels and audiences if we part ways?
  • What is the notice period, and is it the same in both directions?
  • What will you report weekly, and what will you report monthly?
  • What would make you tell us to stop spending on a channel?

Percentage-of-spend pricing is worth particular attention. It rewards the agency for spending more of your money, which is a poor alignment however good the intentions.
